A facial should do more than feel nice for an hour. Ours are built around your skin as it is on the day you walk in, not the skin you had last winter or the skin a brochure assumes you have.
We offer facials and skin treatments at our salon in Hamble-le-Rice, a few minutes from Southampton. We use the Katherine Daniels skincare range which contains high impact ingredients delivering quality results. If you fall in love with a product on the day, let your therapist know as we stock Katherine Daniels in the Salon for purchase. We have a facial designed for each specific skincare concern, whether you want to target fine lines and wrinkles or get your glow back, we can help. Your therapist will talk you through which facial is best for your skin type on the day and will help you with recommendations for your daily skincare to ensure that your results last as long as possible.
Your skin is assessed first, every time
No two facials here start the same way, because no two clients arrive with the same skin. Before anything is applied, your therapist will look at your skin properly and ask about your routine: what you use, how often, what has worked, and what has irritated you in the past.
Skin changes with the seasons, with stress, with sleep, with hormones and with age. A treatment that suited you in July may not be the right call in January. Being reassessed each visit is not a formality, it is the point.
What happens during a facial
Your beauty therapist will lead you to a private room where your treatment will begin. Each facial targets different skincare concerns so your therapist will talk you through what to expect before beginning your treatment. You’ll be invited to relax as one of our talented therapists works through a multiple step facial routine tailored to your needs, gently massaging each stage into the skin, which helps boost blood-flow to the face and neck, helping to deliver maximum results, whilst also acting as a calming and relaxing moment for you to enjoy.

Common concerns we work with
- Dehydration and dullness. Skin that feels tight, looks flat and does not seem to respond to moisturiser the way it used to.
- Ageing gracefully. Firmness, texture and fine lines, approached in a way that works with your face rather than trying to erase it.
- Sensitivity and reactivity. Skin that flushes easily or reacts to new products, where the priority is calming things down before doing anything else.
- Congestion and breakouts. Blocked pores and uneven texture, treated without stripping the skin in the process.
- Seasonal change. Summer skin and winter skin need different things, and a routine that ignores that will always be fighting itself.
Not sure which of these sounds like you? Our two minute skin type quiz is a good starting point, and you are welcome to bring the result to your appointment.
Advice you can actually use at home
A facial every few weeks will only get you so far if the other days are working against it. We would rather tell you plainly that three products used consistently will serve you better than ten used occasionally, even when that means recommending less rather than more.
Our treatments are built around the Katherine Daniels range, including the Essential Cleansing Milk and Essential Toning Lotion, so the routine you follow at home can be a continuation of what happens on the couch rather than something separate.

Before and after your appointment
Come with clean skin if you can, though makeup is never a problem, we will remove it. If you have an event coming up, book your facial a few days beforehand rather than the morning of, so your skin has time to settle.
Let us know if you are using any prescription skincare, retinoids or acids, or if you have had any injectables or resurfacing recently. This is not us being nosy: it genuinely changes what is safe and sensible to do.
Afterwards, keep it simple for the rest of the day. Skip heavy makeup if you can, use sun protection, and let the products already on your skin do their work.
What a course of facials can do that one cannot
A single facial can make significant improvements to how your skin looks and feels for a short period of time. However, if you are wanting to target a persistent skincare concern, for example hyper-pigmentation or skin texture, we may recommend you for a course of treatments spaced 4-6 weeks apart to align with the skin regeneration cycle. This way we can ensure to treat your skin issues at the source and you will notice that your results continue to improve over time.
Facials before a wedding or event
If you have something important coming up, plan backwards. A facial a few days before an event lets skin settle and look its best on the day. A facial the morning of an event is a gamble, particularly if it is your first with us and we do not yet know how your skin responds.
For a wedding or a milestone birthday, starting a few months out gives us room to actually improve the skin rather than just polishing it once. Come and talk to us early and we will map out something realistic for the time you have.
Visiting the salon
Our treatment rooms are inside a Grade II listed building in the middle of Hamble-le-Rice, a few minutes from Southampton. It is a quiet, warm space rather than a clinical one, which is deliberate: relaxing properly is part of how a facial works.
You are welcome to arrive a few minutes early and settle before your appointment starts. [Parking and access details to be confirmed.]
